Launching today, The Lidl Guid Food Guide draws on Lidl’s 30 years serving Scottish communities to offer a first-of-its-kind prediction on the future of food and drink in Scotland.

Bringing together insights from its in-house Scottish Buying team as well as consumer research and the knowledge of an expert industry panel, Lidl is showcasing the diverse and ever evolving tastes of the nation.

Going far beyond shortbread and haggis, The Lidl Guid Food Guide presents a glimpse into the shopping baskets of 2025 - whether its sales ramping up on items already available in-store all-year round or through its renowned ‘Specials’ weeks or seeing new products land in a Lidl near you.

For Scottish food and drink producers, the drive presents a unique opportunity to pitch product ideas to Lidl as the supermarket plans its promotions for next year.

Scotland’s national larder is unmatched and Lidl is seeking suppliers with produce that might enter the mainstream with highlights including homegrown Biltong, bone broth and Honeyberries.

Scottish stalwarts are open to innovation too with the supermarket citing spicy Scotch pies, saucy venison steaks and savoury chilli-oil topped porridge as potentials on the horizon.

Globally-inspired ingredients also make the list with research showing Scots will be shopping for black garlic, crispy chilli oil, kefir and kombucha next year.

Any Scottish food and drink supplier interested in learning more can download the guide here and those keen to make contact with the Buying team, should contact: lidl@getlux.co.uk.
