Williams Bros Brewing's premium Scottish lager, Ceilidh, has been awarded a coveted 2-Star Great Taste Award by the Guild of Fine Food, making it the only Scottish lager to receive two stars in this year's awards.

The Great Taste Awards are recognised as the world's largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. This year, 15,038 products were blind tasted by hundreds of expert judges, with only the very best receiving the coveted stars. A 2-Star award is reserved for products judges describe as "above and beyond delicious".

Launched earlier this year, Ceilidh is a crisp, cold-conditioned premium Helles-style lager brewed in Alloa using locally grown Scottish extra pale malt, Scotland's naturally soft water and a carefully balanced blend of traditional Hallertau and modern Tango hops. The beer is slow-fermented before being cold-conditioned for six weeks, creating a clean, refreshing lager with real depth of flavour.

Scott Williams, Managing Director of Williams Bros Brewing, said:

"To receive a 2-Star Great Taste Award for a beer that only launched a few months ago is an incredible achievement. We're immensely proud that Ceilidh is the only Scottish lager to receive two stars this year. It's fantastic recognition of our team's commitment to brewing a premium Scottish lager without compromise."

Founded over 30 years ago, Williams Bros Brewing continues to go from strength to strength, with Ceilidh becoming the latest success in a growing portfolio of award-winning beers. Brewed in Alloa, the independent brewery is expanding its retail presence across Scotland while remaining committed to brewing exceptional beer without compromise.

Ceilidh is available in selected Asda, Tesco, Waitrose and SPAR stores across Scotland, as well as in selected bars and independent retailers.
